My beauty routine is quite minimal – and in the summer even more so. Most days, a quick pass of mascara and a little lip balm or gloss is all I bother with. But in the fall and winter I’m drawn to more dramatic looks, especially when it comes to lipstick.
I’m still on the hunt for my perfect red – but having spotted Chanel’s Rouge Allure in Pirate, perhaps the search is close to an end?

The re-launched Rouge Allure line has shades ranging from neutral to deep dark reds and Pirate, a blue-red, stood out amongst the crowd. That said; in true Informed Style fashion, I need to make sure that the shade works well with my skin tone – just because the shade appeals to your eyes, doesn’t mean it’s a good match…

Wow Pirate sounds wonderful being a blue-red shade. I prefer the cooler tone reds on my skin and even though my eyes are drawn to the trendy orange-reds, I can’t wear them. Good luck on your lipstick journey
