If New York Fashion Week is where my corporate side looks for inspiration, London Fashion Week is where the quirky part of my personality goes for fulfillment. British designers Julien Macdonald, Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood have always spoken to me. The mix of impeccable tailoring, innovative design and unique styling that LFW brings to the table rarely disappoints. This year, I loved the art-deco prints at Temperley and had a hard time tearing myself away from the embellishments and rich textures at L’Wren Scot – so sumptuous! But, if I had to choose Just One piece from LFW, it would be:

I love this grey dress because of the contrasts – the pattern is heavy – and makes me think that it should be on a solid gabardine. But that it’s used on a thin chiffon-like overlay is a really interesting play on the masculine meets feminine. The high neckline and the long gloves are complements to the lightness of the fabric. I think that the overall look is quite ladylike…but she’s no pushover!

I have always loved the quirky side of London fashion in general. When I visited a couple of years ago, I couldn’t believe how some people expressed themselves with fashion. I mean, I remember thinking, these girls are tucking their jeans into their boots! Now look, we do it on the daily. They are real trendsetters in my opinion.
It’s so hard to choose just one look from so many gorgeous ones, it’d probably take me hours of pouring over pictures to decide, but it’s interesting how it sums up your style!
Also wanted to say that I’ve nominated your blog for the Liebster award, and you can check it out here if you’re interested: http://floralmess.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/liebster-award.html

This silhouette reminds me of the 60′s maybe because of the elbow gloves. But stunning dress indeed.
A real beautiful piece.. which truly represents the spirit of London fashion!
